April 25‏

Good morning Family,

So first i must follow up with last weeks Mushroom adventure hunting experince!!! So we did a ton of hiking around a members land ( i guess more like hilling around, no real mountains to hike)!! It was way fun but we had no success in finding the much treasured Mushrooms!!! However much to our delite, that night our dinner a different family had gone mushroom hunting and had a bit of success and so for dinner we had amazing wild mushroom burgers!!!!! Super yummy, mmmm, they kinda have a steak flavor, its wierd but i would deffinetly eat them again!!! So for news in Clinton, Missouri...We do have transfers this thursday... we find out the details tommorow so i will have to let Bro. Hill shoot you a email with all the transfer info!! I really hope to stay here awhile!!! Do you know i only have 4 more transfers let?? I could totally spend the rest of my mission here in Clinton!!! That would be Awesome!!! I also did get a missouri drivers license finnally!!! Sweetness!!! However the mission office car guy said it isn't the best so he had me call Mom and have her do my dirty work to try renewing my license from Utah!! Well i can drive for now so that is good!!! Mom just keep me updated on the renewly packet thing!! It was way nice to talk to you for the short 15-20 minutes i did!! LOVE YOU MOM!!!!

Anywho... I had my first normal Sunday in the ward this last week!!! Wierd it was my last sunday of the transfer, we have had church cancelled, fast sunday, General confrence, stake confrence, ward confrence and finally a regular sunday!!! So here the new missionary talks his first normal sunday so i finally was asked to speak!!! It went super well!!! I asked my comp to help me and we sang a song right before i spoke!! the song was "Joseph Smith's first Prayer" to the melody of "Come thou fount of Every Blessing" and on the third verse elder brunner hummed the melody and i quoted the first vision, and closed with the last verse!!! It was amazing!! I was so worried because i am getting sick and my voice is going quick, I know the Lord helped us completly while we where up there!!! He carried the song unto the members hearts!!! It was simply amazing!!! I spoke for about 10 minutes, my topic was Praying w/ Faith!! I talked about Joseph being a perfect example of praying with faith and acting!!! his prayer was not simply which church was right??? it was which church should i JOIN??? President Eyring said," he prayed with the intent to not only listen but to obey. He did not ask only to know the truth. He was committed to act upon whatever God would communicate to him!!!" It was a great experince for me to talk to the ward!!! I know the spirit was so strong while we were up there!!!!

After the talk we had two different families come up to us, with non-members they had been bringing pretty regurally, and in both cases the non-members asked us if they could set up a time and take the missionary lessons!!! Don't worry we said YES!!! We totally got two brand new investigators and we are so excited right now!!! I really don't want to get transferred!!! i would be a sad panda :( !!!! The work is really progressing!!! I LOVE you all so much!! Thanks so much for you prayers and support!!! Best Family ever!!! Much Love, Elder Lance Murie

Ps. Pray as if everything depended on God, and Work as if everything depended on YOU!!! LOVE YALL!!

Happy Birthday Robin & Bekah!!!!

Dear Family,

Wow... How old is Robin and Bekah??? Is Bekah in YW's now??? That is sorta weird, yet very cool!!! Man I'm getting to be a old guy!!! Happens way to quick.. I'm even considered an old guy in the mission too!! We had interviews with the mission President and his wife this last Friday... it went allllll day long but it was a very spiritual day and things are going really well!!! President and i talked about the last 6 months of my mission and how now is the time for my mission to peak, to go from wherever it is to the top of the my mission experience!! I totally agree too!!! My comp and i are working on being as diligent and as obedient as possible!!! Things are going extremely well here in Clinton!!! We are teaching a few good investigators and really focusing on working with the members still!!! Its weird not tracting as much... its more effective by far to work with the members, but Ive never been in a area that we are discouraged to tract!!! Kinda nice!!! Gotta Find, Teach and Baptize!!!

So today is going to be super fun P-day... We got permission to leave the mission!!! Which the mission boundaries are like only 30 minutes away... so its not to bad!! We got a referral that a member gave us and it was outside the area so they refereed it to that mission but they never saw missionaries so we are stepping in where they those missionaries could not!!! J.k. i guess it is pretty far off the main road, gravel roads and such!!! Bro Lean is taking us out there... its his parents and we are spending the P-day out there!! We are also going to go mushroom HUNTING!!! Big big event out here in the middle of now-where!! And no not the psyicadellic mushrooms they are a lot different.. I guess they are great and like everyone talks about them.. sorta weird!!! But that is are P-day activities for the day!!! Should be Way fun!!! I really like the middle of now-where areas sometimes!! Not as many missionaries to hang out with, but a ton more interesting P-day activities!!!

That is so cool to here that Kristine has been meeting with the sister missionaries lately!! And good to hear Steve is doing good!!! That is really lame to hear Carolyn is not doing great.... Tell her I say Hey, and that i miss and love her!!! That would be awesome for you to go and see her Mom!!! You should print off the conference talk a year ago by Elder Holland called "None were with Him" That is a amazing talk that just helps us know and understand that God will never abandon us and we always have someone to be next to us in hard times!! That would be great!!! Thanks for sending the Garments mom, they are much needed and i really appreciate it!!! Anyways... not much new yet... Working hard and really enjoying the mission!!! I hope all is well with yous guys!!! If there is anything I can do for anybody just ask!!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!! Have a great week!!

MUCH LOVE Elder Murie

PS. I attached a couple of photos on this one i hope it works!!! Tell me if it does???? (pics of Clinton, comp, the town tightwad,) not much but it something :)

Crazy week again!!!

Greetings Earthlings!!!

Sometimes you do feel like a alien as a missionary...a cool alien though!!! You are in the world but not a part of the world!!! Seriously there is no other way I would rather have it than be what I am now and doing what I am doing!!!! So guess what.... I have been out on my mission for 18 months now, a few days couple hours and 25 minutes but whos counting??? Just kidding... Crazy how fast things are going!!! On my 18th month mark i was on exchanges out of the area with a missionary, Elder Allan, and he was in the MTC with me so yeah we had a kinda 18th month party!!! Our dinner was a Samoan family and the ward E. Allan serves in has a lot of Polynesians!!! I have never eaten so much food at someones house!!!! So yeah we had like 5 courses of food, they are just like here is some more food elders... eat up!!! And thats what these Elders get in that area everynight!!! If i ever serve there i will be like a Balloon right before i come home!!! Terribly good and terrible filling!!! Uhhhh...

This week has gone by super quick... I was out of the area on two exchanges so i wasn't even here for alot of the work in the area this week but it is going Amazing!!! Elder Brunner and I taught this awesome member refferal, Dana Scott, and He is so solid!!! He is a little different, but in a good way!!! He wants to serve and help everyone around him, he has a natural care for everyone and is so intrested!!! We are hopefully teaching him again this week!!! The first lesson went great though!!! He is a way Christlike guy!!! We might have to give him to other Elders because he might be outside our ward boundries.. kinda lame but thats how it works!!! Yeah with exchanges and moving into our new place here in Clinton we still taught a ton of great lessons and have done a lot of service with the ward members.. Active and less active!!! I love service!!! I think it might be one of the best ways to work with the ward and get their trust and receive member refferals!!! And now that it is warm we get a lot more service opportunities than in the winter!!! Ahh we did some really gross service too, like throw up gag service but i will let your minds wonder for a while on that one!!! Yeah so if you didn't get the new address....111 s. 4th st. #2d, Clinton, MO, 64735.

Yeah...so things are kinda hard getting to know the ward and all with general confrence then this week was stake confrence, then next ward confrence... and we have no dinners lately cause we are changing things up a bit in the ward calender so yeah we are kinda having a hard time meeting all the members!! We have like only a few that really help us out with the work so our big focus is working with the members right now!!! This ward is really Awesome ward, the coolest members ever, we just need to get the ward and missionaries on the same page and tear it up together!!! There are some way cool members here, the hills, the quinnleys, so many great families!!! Oh my gosh we have been getting together with the Elders in the ward and playing basketball early mornings now and then... so yeah there was this game where Elder Brunner and i were on different teams and it was my teams game point... So yeah it had been a way close game the whole time and the last shot i go straight up against Brunner for a lay-up, which i was doing all game... but this time he stuffed me pretty good and the ball went straight up in the air.. so we both jumped up i grabbed the ball in the air and brunner swiped it super hard out of my hands back in the air except he threw it behind him and it hit the rim and rolled in to make our game point in the basket!!! It was so Hilarious!!! I was laughing so hard and Brunner was so mad... we get along awesome so it was just the funniest thing ever!!! We had to do a quick Companionship Inventory to work things out after that!!! I really am Loving the work and i Have an awesome comp that really wants to work too!!!

I am way excited to call home in a month!!! Even if my Madie isn't there to talk!! I am ecited to talk to everybody!!! That would be amazing if i could talk to Madie with her family on Christmas... that is a while from now though we will worry about that later.... Yeah its weird talking of where i will stay when i get home... We can just talk about that later too!!! We can worry about that stuff like when I get off the plane or something... Till then its Finding, teaching, testifying, baptizing!!! Your all in my prayers, i miss you and LOVE you guys and dolls!!! Take care and write more.. I miss yas!!! LOVE Elder Lance Murie

Ps. Keep on Keeping ON!!!

Busy Busy...

Ohhhh ohh ohh...Sweet Family of MINE!!!!

How are things going with everyone?? How is the St. George weather treating everyone??? Oh man it is getting warmer already, like only 70, and Im so glad cause we are finally getting to take off the suit coats and go to just slacks!!! well shirt and tie too... just slacks would be a bit akward!!! Man Wasn't General Confrence so Incredible!!! It seemed like every speaker had something i need to hear personally or was perfect for the people we are teaching!!! There were just so many great talks!!! I loved President Uchtdorfs talk in Priesthood session talking about Patience, and it being a God-like attribute we must learn to gain!!! That was a great talk, all sisters in the family should deffinetly look it up and read it soon!!! Way good stuff Maynard!!! I think the one of the best was Elder Holland in the Saturday afternoon session, talking about getting rid of immorality, lust, and the temptations that come with it!! I really liked when he said we should run as fast as we can away from it, and when we leave don't leave it our forwarding address!!! How we shouldn't invite evil into our house for Tea and Crumpits!!! And We shouldn't be serving Tea anyway!!! It was such a good talk!!! If you missed it you should deffinetly go and watch it today!!!! Great weekend!!! We watched most of the confrence in members home cause we didn't get any investigators able to come, which was lame, and the church building just watches it on a lil TV so yeah the members house was much better!!!

So yeah, Im pretty sure getting on the family Blog would be fine... I am now here with a computer savy member also if you want me to upload some pics!!! What is the blog address again?? Yeah i had to upload pics last week from my camera to send into the mission office because someone totally back in to our car!!! We stopped at a members home for a sec and we parked way away from the house yet the sister that lived there didn't turn around to check for like 60+ feet and smack our drivers side rear!!! Pretty sad... :( we may not have a car for a while i guess, when it gets all fixed up!!! That will be an intresting week with our area being so huge-mongess!!!! This are is so cool though!! Work is going extremly well, tonight we are going to teach a members friend in there home and are way pumped for that!!! We even did a Mini-Mission with the young men this wednesday and it was pretty sweet, we taught them a bit with Preah My Gospel and then role-played knocking doors in the church, a tracting experince i guess!!! Pretty Sweet!!! Great Idea though!!! It was Fun!!!

Anyways.... tomorrow we are moving agian!!! Yeah....ish!!! We have been living with members whos time with the missionaries is up... so yeah tommorrow we are moving into this pretty nice apartment place!!! I really like the members we are with so its a bit lame moving but i think the members had some issues with the missionaries before not keeping up on things and so they requested us to move... which is understandable i guess.... So anyways i can get the mail this week sent to that address but my new address for a while will be........drum roll please....J.K. Its 111 S. 4th St. #2D, Clinton, MO, 64735!!! Yep so you know where to catch me at... Oh man last night we had our first Tornado watch of the spring.. Pretty Awesome.. maybe Ill get to see a funnel cloud soon, hurling cows half a mile away!!! That would be intresting right??? Happens... anyways all is well with Elder Murie!!!! Very Well... My comp is awesome, area is kindeling and about to start on fire, and yeah i Miss you all, LOVE YOU all Like crazy!!!! Mom, Madie, Allison, Grandma Thanks for the Birthday gifts and cards, you guys are amazing!!! Have a awesome week!!! Thanks for all your prayers!!! Remember you always in mine!!! God Bless & Much LOVE,

Elder Lance Eric Murie

Elise asleep with goggles on

Lou said they went to check on Elise after she went to bed, and there she was, asleep, wearing goggles

Spring Festival

I thought I'd post some cute picture of Brian's kids playing with Jared and Kendra at the Spring Festival. There was a "silly string battle" that the kids really enjoyed.
