My Dearest Familia,
Yup, its P-day again!! Well sorta, we went to the temple a couple of Saturdays ago...we get to make up for the time we took there so yeah... After email and shopping it will be a normal proselyting day, but Hey i get to write home... That's Awesome!!! How is everyone doing??? How is back to school going and such?? Sounds like things are going a Lil crazy back home... Cody is moved out... Wow 7 kids to take care of the last katrillion years, and now the last stinker is out of the house!!! Wowsers!!! So yeah crazy this week is transfers. On Tuesday we find out and on Thursday the switch or what not goes down!!! Crazy because its my last transfer!! AAAAAHHHHHH!!!! I start my last transfer this week. Do you know how insane that is??? I like missionary work, i think ill just miss my flight perhaps!!!! Oopsey!!! Ha Ha, Mom might kill me just a little bit!!! Im not sure what is going to happen here with Elder Benson and I, ( Not that I usually am sure ;)!!! ) Elder Benson has been in the area for 6 months now and i only have one left!!! Will he stay or will he go?? I hope I stay!!! I really Love this area!! The ward is awesome, The missionaries are so bomb, and the work is the best!!! So next p-day you will find out the dirty details on where and how Elder Murie will spend the end of his mission!!!! Weird!!!
This Sunday was pretty sweet!!! Yesterday both Elder Benson and I got to speak in Sacrament meeting!!! Elder Benson gave a talk on Christlike attributes and it was way way good!!! Elder Benson is a cheater though it runs in his family... President Ezra Taft Benson is like his Grandpa's brother!!!! So funny!!! My talk was on the "Roll" of the Book of Mormon. The topic gave to us meant to say the "Role" of the Book of Mormon, however they spelt it wrong!! Its was pretty funny... so I talked on both the Role of the Book of Mormon, and also on how the Book of Mormon Rolls!!! It was pretty good!!! I talked about how the Book of Mormon rolls all over the world, in over 100 different languages, from your scriptures at home to the cell phones in our pocket!! Just crazy!!! This truth will go to all the hidden places of the world!!! I LOVE THE BOOK OF MORMON!!! Today i was reading in Mosiah 26-27, about Alma the younger's conversion, it is just so powerful the things i continue to learn by reading!!! How simply and powerfully the Book of Mormon teach about Christ!!! It is the sweetest thing to share this Amazing Book!!!!!!!
I guess speaking of sharing this amazing book... Diana is getting baptized this week!!!! WOW!!! She is so solid, we are praying that everything will go to plan!!! She is doing great, we are trying to take her up to the Independence Visitors Center this week before the baptism!!! I will miss our visitors center when I go!!! :( Guess what... yesterday at church we got a picture mock up of the new Kansas City temple!!!! it looks so fly!!! I will try to send you a picture because it will be one Beautiful temple!!! Pretty big I think!!! Anyways... Im pretty much out of thyme.... both the seasoning and the amount of emailing i get!!! Ha Ha just kidding... Crazy Elder Murie..!!! I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!! Have a good one!!! MUCH LOVE, Elder Murie

Hello Family!!!!
It seems like a pattern of getting on here and having so much stuff to tell you i don't even nowhere to start!!! These last few weeks have been insane crazy!!! So busy and so quick yet somehow Heavenly Father threw in so many amazing spiritual experinces!!! I have to start with telling you... We have someone commited for Baptism!!! It is such a amazing story... So we had another appointment with Diana (which in spanish sounds like Deanna) and it was amazing we talked about the plan of salvation and we followed up with her on if she had read the Book of Mormon and... She had!!! I kinda did a double take... Like wait you actually read it!! She is so Awesome!! She said when she read it she just knew what she was reading was true and the spirit was totally there... when she told us that we explained how important that knowledge was of knowing the B.of M. was true, cause if thats true Joseph Smith is a Prophet, Jesus Christ is the Savior and the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS is the Lord's Kingdom on earth!! Right there I invited Diana to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized on the 4th of September... She was pretty hesitant and just told us she would have to pray about it. That was Monday... So we had a appointment also on Thurday and when we went over we started a normal lesson and followed up on her praying about baptism. She got really shy and kind of bashfull it was really funny cause we had no idea why she was acting that way... then she told us her story.
So I guess the member family that she lives with, the Shellys, decided to give there daughter a back to school blessing on Wednesday. They also invited Diana if she wanted to have one!! Diana agreed. So she said when she got her blessing she felt totally overcome by the spirit, she felt so at peace and warm. Then she said a soft voice told her she was going to be baptized on the 4th of September!! She said she thought maybe it was just all in her head and stuff, but then she heard it again, Your going to be baptized on the 4th of september!!! When she told us that story I almost jumped out of my chair it was so amazing!!! She is so prepared for the gospel!! We taught her law of Chastity and Word of Wisdom and she was like yeah i really like coffee but no more going to McDonalds for Cafe!!! She kinda cryed a bit having to give it up but she totally knows what we have taught is TRUE!!! I love the Holy Ghost!! It makes this super difficult job a lot easier!! It is so cool to see the spirit work in peoples lifes!!! So yeah, pray for Diana!!!
So yeah besides that... not much else going down... Oh i did go to St. Louis on saturday that was pretty big!! First time I've been to the temple in like a whole year!!! Gosh that seems like forever!!! Its cool though missionary work for the dead is great but right now im all about the "Live" ones!!! :) It was a sweet experince we went with some of Elder Benson's converts for baptisms for the dead!! It was really neat i got to be a part of the Confirmations and it was so funny because we confirmed a man named Joseph Smith!!! Oh yeah beat that!!! It was a very neat expernice!!! Journal Entry worthy!!! Don't worry im doing a bit better on the journal thing... its a hard goal to achieve!!! but a good one!!! Man such a great week, sounds like things are going well at home too!!! I miss you all so so so much!!! I Love you a bunch more though!!! Have a fantabular day and week!!!

What a week!!!
Mon, 16 Aug 2010
Hello sweet family of mine...
How is everything going for everyone??? I really am not sure where to start on how insane this week has been!!! So i guess i will start with the bulk of the week which is where all the juicy stuff is anyway!!! So Tuesday through Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm, In Olathe, KS we had a mission wide leadership conference to learn the MTC curriculum!!! WOWSERS... Super busy super tight schedule... many missionaries stayed in Olathe and worked, we drove 45mins home everyday on Kansas City free-ways... Boy Howdy it was nuts!! Honestly though... The spirit at those meetings was so powerful, like we went to the School of the Prophets, or Kirkland dedication.... The things we learned and the skills that we practiced over and over again are INCREDIBLE!!! I wish some of the things i learned i would have known at the beginning of my mission!! Every evening when we came home and were able to teach for like 2 hours... were some of the most spiritual packed lessons ive had my whole mission!!! Everything we learned really was focusing on following the spirit and having everything we say come directly from Heaven!! Takes a lot of patience, quite and sometimes awkward pauses while teaching but it allowed for the questions, promise blessings, testimony and more, to come to our teaching "Heaven Sent"!!! I feel like a greenie again it is so crazy!!! The new Mtc stuff is amazing, it is used to help us apply Preach My Gospel better and it does exactly that!!! This week has been incredible!!! I wish you could have all felt the spirit that was there!!! Im not sure if Madie's mission has it yet but it was incredible!!! The missionaries in the field are learning it first and it will be put into the MTC in MAY 2011!!!! So sweet!!!
Yeah that has really been most of my week!! So so busy!! Well worth it!!! So yeah had like 32+ hours of church this week, pretty nuts!!! Saturday was amazing also... We did this service project in the community up in the ghetto of Kansas City... it was called "OPERATION BREAKTHROUGH"!!! We got to go to this warehouse and this "OB" group collects furniture of all sorts, tables, beds, desks, and more and gives them away to those in need in the community!! It was pretty fun!!! Mostly poor black people where there for help and we carried the stuff from the warehouse to their cars... The people were so nice to us and greatful!!! So sweet the kansas city news groups showed up and interviewed our mission president, and another elder... Like 3-4 different new groups... So later that evening we got a message from on of our investigators, "Hey we just saw you and Elder Benson on the news, thought we say that was pretty awesome" So yeah mama your son is big time on the TV now!!! HaHa that was so funny, So yeah you should look up on the eternet on Kansas City news, channel 9 or something, Operation Breakthrough... Saturday the 14th!!! Pretty Awesome!!! Its fun serving in the City area, people are just crazy!!!
Hhhhmmm... What else... Im not sure, is there any questions anyone in the family has?? I would Love to answer questions!!! We are teaching 3 of our investigators tonight... We have few that are very close and have such awesome spirits about them!!! I Love teaching people!!! This new lessons stuff we learned really takes us away from not teaching lessons but teaching people!!! It is Exciting!!! Crazy good week, Its been cool I've been around President Van Komen everyday since last Monday!!! That is pretty cool!!! Thats like one of my fav perks being a leader. I LOVE serving in the Missoura Independence Mission!!! The Greatest Mission in earth, the Center Stakes of Zion!!!! Thanks so much for your support everyone!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!! Everyone of yas!!! Always your brother in the Lord,

Another week, Another letter!!!
Monday August 9, 2010
Aloha "Hello"!!!!
Wowsers has this last week flown by!!! Another week gone.... yuck the days are going by way to fast!!! Its a great thing that the days are so stinking amazing though!!! Man this last week has been kind of nuts. Our mission just did a switch, we only have zone conferences every 3 months now... So this last week I had my last Zone Conference :( It was one of the best zone conferences I've been to though.. the spirit was so so strong!!! Yeah so this week should be a lot like ZC's though!! Tuesday through Friday, 7:30am-5:00pm everyday we are going to be at a big leadership training, I guess there are new teaching methods on like how to use Preach My Gospel and stuff like that.. so yeah not really for sure about everything but it should be Amazing!!! I guess its like the new curriculum that will be taught in the MTC in May and they just want everyone in the field to know whats up first i guess!!! Pretty sweet!! Kinda crazy because we will have like no proselyting time this week!! Thats a little loco!!!!
Yeah so this week has been pretty packed!!! Saturday was pretty sweet.. The Kansas City Stake had a Emergency Preparedness Fair for like all the community to take part in!!! There were like 15-20 different groups, like red-cross, fire department, wal-mart??? (they got there hand in everyones cookie jar, (: ), there was also military and much more!!! It was cool the missionaries in the zone came and we set up a table/booth and talked a lot about the importance of strong families and had a bunch of supplies to pass out, it was Great!!! Lots of people came through, like 200 or so, pretty good for being at the church house, it was the nice new stake center!! It was sweet because Whiteman Air force base is pretty close by and they came and landed a Apachee helicopter in the church parking lot!!! So Crazy!!! Jealous Louie??? Yeah I talked to a lot of non-members who came to check the fair out just because there was a helicopter in the lot!!! We should totally have it land there on Sundays and get a whole bunch more people to stop by for sacrament meeting!!! That would be pretty legit!!! ha ha...
Anywho lots going on, tons of small and simple things working mighty miracles!!! Teaching a few new great investigators, Deanna, she is 17 yrs old and speaks mostly Spanish. She just moved in with a member family and is way interested!! We dropped off some Fun-Fetti cookies to a Part member family and they came to church this week!! That was pretty sweet.. oohhh the power of Fun-fetti!!! Im just loving the work, and working hard!!! Go out with a huge bang and just continue to improve when i get home!!! Thank you so much for the package!! I love everthing, especially the oil vile!!! Much needed, thanks... I already lost the little black one Madie and Allison got for me... Sorry im a clutz!!! I Love you guys!!! Thats cool you had a trip to Cali, cool happy 18th present!! Very nice!!! No lie the Missoura trip would have been a lot cooler if it had some ocean to play in!!! Good thing theres no beach here or I'd be all up in it, J.K. ... it has been like 100 degrees with like 95% humidity!!! AKA "DEATH" haha yeah little Insane if you ask me!!! Can't wait for the cool air to come in!! Anyways I need to get on with the getty on!!! Enjoy P-day everyone!! Don't get to crazy... I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!

Sister Whitney Got Transferred!!!
Monday August 9, 2010
Hello Family,
Crazy week! Tuesday night was transfer calls and I got the call that I needed to start packing. Wednesday I packed and said my goodbyes to Greenfield! It was really tough saying goodbye! I love the people so much and they are like my family now. I started crying a few times saying goodbye. But I know that Heavenly Father has sent me where I needed to go. Thursday moring we stuffed all of my stuff into the back of the car and headed to Columbus. We got there and transfers started. I got paired up with Sister Hulburt in the Marion area! Sister Hulburt is from Seattle, Washington. She has been serving for 3 months now. She is a really cute girl! It was crazy coming into Marion because it is my second area. I am now the Senior Companion and the driver all in a new area! It was kind of stressful because Sister Hulburt didn't know her way around Marion and so we have been using a lot of maps. Marion is also full of one way streets and so that is difficult to get used to. I didn't really want to drive either. I would rather sit in the passenger seat and relax but it's ok. I drive a 2008 chevy malibu. It's a pretty nice car. Marion is a branch. It has about 80-90 active members. They are trying really hard to become a ward. Something cool about Marion is that it is the oldest branch in the church right now. It was also started by Elder L. Tom Perry when he was serving a mission. He said that when they become a ward he will come back. It would be really cool if it would become a ward when I was here! I would love to see Elder Perry! It's pretty great being in this new area! The branch members seem really sweet and have a desire to work hard. We also get free pizza from Cici's Pizza whenever we want! I love it! Hmmm... I think that is about all I know about Marion.
My address is 251 Barks Road West
Marion, OH 43302
We are also having a baptism this Saturday! Well most likely, he has to have his baptisimal interview but after he passes that he is good to go! It is Leanard Murphy. He is 24 and is really awesome! He knows it's true and has been investigating for about 2 months so it's excited that I am able to participate in the baptism!
If you have any questions just ask me!
I am doing fine on my pills! I have plenty! I did get your note and money! Thank you! Also thank you for making Brigham and Caleb write me! I loved getting their letters! It's nice to get letters from my little brothers! I will definatly keep Barbara in my prayers! I have been hoping to get a letter from her! I miss her!
I am so thankful for all that you do for me! I love you guys so much! I am so grateful to have a family that loves eachother and cares for eachother! I am really so grateful to be serving a mission! It has really helped me learn so much! I know that I will never regret the experience! I love you!

HHMMM... We Meet Again!!!
HHMMM... We Meet Again!!!
So yeah i totally neglected to tell you i cover two wards here, well Fleming Park ward and the Kansas stake singles branch. Thats another reason i have missed seeing some investigators at church!! :) It was really different serving in the singles branch.. Church was pretty funny, recently return missionaries as Elder quorum presidents and its funny, are ward mission leader is like so chill. Its kinda slow but really cool to see a ward with younger leaders!!! Young adults really have missionary work on their mind too which is so cool to see!!! Does La Verkin stake do a singles ward or do they go to St. George or something??? Thats kinda weird!!! Im not even sure what ward i want to be in when i get home?? I'll just worry about that later!!! LOCO!!!
So yeah, Things are great in my neck of the woods. Caprice it was awesome to get your email. that is so cool about josh going to EFY!! I totally wish i would have gone!!! Good Luck in the new house!!! Be sure to dedicate it soon!!! I Love walking into a members home that has been dedicated and you can totally feel the spirit!!! I totally pray that my future home can feel that way!! Clean and Peaceful!!! Just a safe haven!!! Yeah my comp is amazing, we work our tails off and i make him have a bunch of fun doing it!!! We had Zone leader council tuesday, where the mission leaders gets together and discuss the mission goals, it was so powerful and awesome!!! I Love working closer to the mission president, President Van Komen, he is so fun!!! We took a picture i attached to here, he emailed it to me do you think you could save it somehow for me??? We did one normal and one "Silly" as President Van Komen would say!! The highlight of the week was seeing him press the timer button on the camera and running down the stairs across the room to be in the picture!!! So hilarious... I have never seen him run and it is a beautiful sight!!!! Ha ha Family you are beautiful sight!!! Can wait to see you all!!! Until then keep on trucking and remember who you are!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!
Always yours,
Elder Lance Murie

New Area!!!
Mon, 26 Jul 2010
Hey yall Whipper Snappers!!!
Wow has this last week flown bye!!! It is Crazy in my new area... So much different from Clinton, or Valley Center were i spent my last year almost!!! I feel almost dizzy with how much more people we get to talk to & how less of travel time it is to get places!!! I've gone from Tractors, Gardens and Slaying Roosters to Apartments everywhere, and much more Word of wisdom and Law of Chastity problems!!! Aahhh it is such a change!! A great change though!!! My new comp is awesome!!! His name is Elder Jordan Benson, he is from Logan, UT. He has been out just a little under a year, he is super fun though!!! We have been working our tails off!!!! We where in Clinton also, just it was a lot like fishing.... it took a long time to get to and from the lake to find success. And here there are people everywhere and not a lot of traveling!! Its like having your line in the water all day long!! So to answer some of your questions... The Ward I'm in is the Fleming Park ward, in the Kansas City Stake!! So the breakdown is a zone is another name for a stake in this mission, and the mission covers 11 stakes, there are about 8 missionaries in a district and two districts in a zone... so 16 in the zone!!! Hope that madness makes sense... The city I'm actually in is Blue springs, Kansas City suburb... and its in Missouri!!! So yeah pretty much KC, MO!!! My new address is 903 S.W. Hampton CT. #8, Blue Springs, Mo, 64015... So yeah.. I love when the cup runneth over in the letter department... Can't wait to hear from ya!!! (:
Yeah i don't really know what else to say.. I have only been here in the area a few days and only met like one of our investigators, and found a couple new ones!!! Pretty neat!!! On Transfer day we all met in Independence and transferred, right after we took a investigator through the Independence Visitors Center... the Sister missionaries gave tours and stuff... It went really great!!! Im really liking this area already, i though i was kinda city boy but i really miss the country life now that im gone from it!!! It was hard but good leaving Elder Davis in Clinton. He kind of struggles and gets down on him self at times!!! I realized it would be a hassle to bring home my bike, so i gave it to him!! I could have sold it but I'm good with my "mission son" cruising around on my sweet Burn-a-dean!!! That was her name... Burn-a-dean!!! I hate goodbyes!!! Yeah i also am no longer carring my Winter stuff anymore... My Coat and Shoe covers... Elder Davis also didn't have that so I sold it to him for like 20 bucks... He really needed them and hopefully I won't regret that in the future!!! ;) I still have a ton of stuff probably more than 50 lbs a suitcase when I come home so yeah you will probably get a couple packages in the next couple of months!! Please when i send it don't go through everything and tear it apart!!! That would be no bueno!!!
Anywho, yeah... new calling same work!!! Not much really changes with Zone Leader which is cool. Find, Teach and Baptize!! We do get to do like 10+ exchanges with missionaries which is super cool!!! We go to more meetings with mission President, Stake meetings and such, we just have to try being a great example of obedience, diligence, etc... I'm not to shabby at it but Im sure i got the call to improve in all those areas!!! I definitely feel very excited, and very over my head, prayers are much appreciated!!!! I Love you all so much!!!! You guys are always in my Prayers!!! Have a great week!! Much Love,
-Elder Murie
Ps. My 3 points of advice from a member in Clinton as I said goodbye!!! (HAD TO SHARE)
